Music

  1. District funded (free) music to all 4th & 5th graders – various instruments – 1 day per week.
  2. Gift of Music (a new grant provided by MCC – free to the school) Teacher, Stephanie Smith in every class 30 minutes per week.
  3. Understanding Culture Through Music (free) for 1st & 2nd graders only.
  4. Adventures In Music – AIM (free) 2 programs
  • AIM #1: 3rd – 5th grades – 3 concerts at the school and 1 trip to the Symphony
  • AIM #2: 1st - 2nd grades - 3 concerts at the school and 1 trip to the Symphony

Performance

  1. San Francisco Ballet (free) 3rd graders – 10 week program. They also offer scholarships for off-campus classes.
  2. Integrated Poetry Reading (asking HMCRA to help fund – approximately $1000.00) – Students pair with Seniors to write and perform poetry.

Art

  1. District funded (free) Arts Release Program to 4th and 5th grade students – Art relief teachers in the classroom.
  2. San Francisco Art Education Fund (cost to HMCRA - $5,000.00) Teacher, Tiffany Gram to finish Peace Panel with the Kinders and create a Mural/Panel for the Youth Arts Festival – various grade levels. (This program will start in the Spring, 2006)
