Friends of Harvey Milk

What is the Friends of Harvey Milk? In 2006, members of the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy Parent Faculty Club (PFC) created a separate fundraising organization to accommodate the groundswell of support from community members. A non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Friends of Harvey Milk (Friends) mission is to support the educational and extra-curricular activities of students of Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy. Friends works in coordination with the PFC and the School Site Council (which manages school budget and funding priority with the San Francisco Unified School District). Friends focuses funding on projects central to the HMCRA mission that are not otherwise supported by the District, Parent Faculty Club, or School Site Council.
